Tweaking Your Settings

The flashcard decks given in this course are set by default to show 20 new words per day.

If you want to study more or fewer new words per day, you can change this setting by editing the "Study Options." If you're doing this in an app, the process will vary, but here is what it looks like on a PC:

If you choose a particularly high number of new cards to study per day, be warned that the number of reviews that are due will start to increase quite a bit, and you may need to review hundreds of cards per day.

If this happens to you, and you start becoming overwhelmed, just set your new cards quota to zero for a week or two (or three), and the number of reviews due will drop naturally.

In time, you should find your personal sweet spot: The ideal number of new/review cards

for you personally to study each day.

When life changes, this sweet spot also tends to change, so don't feel too stressed if/when that happens.
