Your Primitives PDF

Niko portraitNiko

We've talked a lot about the primitives (sometimes called constituents) that we use in our kanji mnemonics.

You can think of them as kanji building blocks.

Since these appear repeatedly throughout our studies of kanji, individual primitives usually don't get their own flashcard. Even if we wanted to put them in flashcards, some of them cannot be written on a computer.

Accordingly, we made this PDF containing all of the primitives in the order in which Heisig introduces them:

I recommend printing this out and keeping it with you so that you can refer back to it if you forget the meaning or writing of a particular primitive.
